Notes
James Newberry came rah ervey@yahoo.com Date: Jan 8, 2006 In case you don't already know--and are interested--the object framed in the center of the photo of Sargent's studio is a Taxiphote. It is a cabinet for the storage and viewing of stereo glass slides. I can provide more information about it if anyone is interested. Thank you for the very valuable photos on your website! I have done research into 19th century photographers' (daylight) studios, and can send information and drawings. I also have books with photos of many 19th century artists in their studios--a fascinating topic! |
