Agénor, Duc de Gramont (1851-1925),
son of the Duc de Gramont who was at one time French Foreign Minister,
and Agenor's wife Marguerite (nee de Rothschild; 1855-1905 part of the
French branch of the famous Rothschild banking family). The two were
married in 1878. Marguerite's wealthy father, Mayer Carl Rothschild, later
disowned her for converting to Christianity.
Agenor had three children, Armand,
Duc de Guiche (b. 1879), and Elisabeth, who became the Duchesse de Clermont-Tonnere.
Armand married Elaine Greffuhle on November 14, 1904, so really when
de Laszlo painted her she would be styled Elaine, Duchesse de Gramont (nee
Greffuhle). Elaine was the daughter of the Comtesse Elizabeth Greffuhle,
whom de Laszlo painted in 1908, and her husband Comte Henry Greffuhle.
Armand and Elaine had five children:
Antoine, Jean, Henri, Charles, and Corisande. De Laszlo painted Charles
in 1914 and also painted Corisande. I am attaching his portrait
of the young Corisande (not sure of when it was painted)
