This portrait was one of the
four commissioned by Mrs. Arthur Bronson. All were painted at the same
sittings which included this one by Ralph Curtis, one by Harper Pennington,
Julian Story and Charles
Forbes. It was probably done at Browning son's Palazzo
Rezzonico, which was just up the a way on the Grand Canal, were there
were a number of artists who had studios.
