John Singer Sargent -- American painter
Private collection
Oil on canvas
45.72 x 31.8 cm (18 x 15 in)
Inscribed and dated: to my cousin Kitty Austin / John S. Sargent 1878
 Jpg: adelsongallerieswebshots
Inscribed to Catherine (Kitty) Austin who an older sister to Mary Turner Austin whom Sargent painted the same year. Both cousins to John and were two of four siblings in the Austin family.

Ormond and Kilmurray think that maybe the model for this painting might not have been Italian girl at all, but possibly a Parisian model.
